About the Founder
Born in Finland, shaped by sauna culture, language, and horses.
Linda Helistö started her career studying customer linguistics and purchasing behaviour — the exact words people reach for when describing the things that matter most to them, and what those words reveal about how they decide. A PhD was the natural next step. She chose a startup instead.
The real world turned out to be a better laboratory for customer understanding and creating stories that sell.
What followed was a career built at the intersection of economics, international sales, and cultural storytelling, guided throughout by a sensibility for human psychology, art, and what moves people.
Her background in somatic science and stress physiology, including study under Peter Levine PhD, the NASA stress researcher and founder of Somatic Experiencing, means she understands wellness not as a trend to capitalize on, but as a lived human experience and a basic need. And knows how to market it with that depth of respect.
As co-founder of the West Coast Sauna Summit, she holds a unique perspective on where wellness is headed — and how sauna culture and holistic perspectives are shaping how people want to live and travel.
Balthén, named after her concert pianist mother, is her ode to beauty, whole-human well-being, personal expression and cultural depth. Built for the stories worth telling — and the brands bold enough to lead with a new perspective.
