The Work

Balthén is a cultural production studio based in Vancouver and Finland, producing sauna experiences, co-branded activations and visual stories for luxury hospitality, sauna culture and considered brands.

  • Where different worlds merge. Sauna villages, rituals and events that bring together brands, cultures and communities in one shared experience.

  • Where a story becomes something you can recognize and hold. Films, photography, words and books that carry the essence of a brand and the people behind it.

Meet the Founder

Linda Helistö

The future of marketing is experiential, built on how something makes people feel, the communities they want to belong to, and the places that give them a sense of beauty and awe.

Brands grow by becoming part of how people want to live. Through Balthén, she brings sauna culture and storytelling to brands built on excellence, creating moments of meaning and momentum, and the lasting value that follows.

Born in Finland and shaped by sauna culture, language and horses, she started her career studying customer linguistics and purchasing behaviour: the words people reach for when something matters, and the mental processes behind how they decide and act. A PhD was the natural next step. She chose a startup sales instead, and the real world became her laboratory.

Economist, sociologist and lifelong student of human nature, she trained in Somatic Experiencing under Dr. Peter Levine and is writing a book on the neuroscience of emotion. As co-founder of the West Coast Sauna Summit, Canada’s largest sauna event, she brings sauna culture, hospitality and business together for growth.

Balthén carries the name of her mother, a firecracker concert pianist. Every production is made with the same devotion to beauty and belief in art.
